Australians, Show Your Pride

Seeing Singapore so near the top is surprising, but don’t get used to it. Three years ago the country had no casinos; today the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa alone nearly outgross the entire Las Vegas Strip, but outside of Macau they enjoy first-mover advantage in betting-mad Asia.

But, it appears, seeing Australia so high is not something unusual.

We tend to spend huge amounts of money on sports gambling in this country, i'm not surprised by these results at all.

I know I'm at this post late - cest lavvie.

I was talking to a mate about Singapore casinos - the interesting thing, he tells me, is that locals are charged large sums to get in.

If you're an overseas guest of the hotel, or show your passport, you're OK, but they're charging locals around $S100 to get in, he says.
