Paper Cities Cover

Paper Cities contains my story 'The Funeral, Ruined', which, as I'm sure you can tell from the title, is cheery.

Available at WFC, I believe.

It's a first impressions thing, not a seperate elements thing.

Seperately, I can identify parts I don't like... but on the whole, I'd stop to pick it up. And I'm very keen on the logo font.

yeah, i like the logo as well.

anyhow, i don't think it's a bad cover, certainly. it just doesn't spike me the way some do. such is life, really.

Well, your story wasn't cheery, but I liked it anyhow. It left me wanting more in the same world.

thanks, jess. that's a nice thing to say.

if you're curious, there's about three other stories in that world, and the novel i'm writing now, it's set in that. the first story is called 'under the red sun', the second, 'the souls of dead soldiers are for blackbirds, not little boys' (funeral is a companion piece to that), and the third is 'possession,' which hasn't been published yet, though sean wallace at fantasy mag bought it earlier in the year. you wanna read them, though, just email me at benpeek at livejournal dot com, and i'll send 'em to you.
