The Strange Death of Liberal England

Cool name for a band, huh?

They have a seven inch EP out, from what I understand, but it doesn't do much for me since I've never owned a record player. No album as yet. I, of course, nicked this off Warren Ellis (warren_ellis) cause he's good for a bit of music every now and then. Also, pictures of bloody, insect cover cocks.

unfortunately, my friend d, who i would go and see gigs with, moved to melbourne recently, and there's been no one to replace him. i really have to work on it--i considered seeing the drones here a couple of weeks ago, but going to gigs by yourself kinda sucks.

Tell me about it. I saw The Decemberists on my own after people dropped out. I had two spare tickets to The Drones, too, and only one mate there!

I'm not convinced by The Maps (half priced Thom Yorke, I think), so don't think I'll make it to Strange Death as they're only supporting.

i saw bluebottle kiss on my own after a friend got sick. good gig, but painful in a social way, especially between sets.

anyhow, fair enough on the maps. i haven't heard them, myself.

Me neither. Just found a live demonstration here, on the ICA's website.

You might like the ICA, man. It's the best membership I've ever bought. Really great place. Just check out this month's What's On to see what I mean. I don't mind pretentious, if it's good, and it tends to be at the ICA.

hmm. i'm not thinking much of maps, i have to say.

ICA seems alright. though i have a habit of disappearing and not going to places like that, unless someone makes me.
