I Wish I'd Written Get Off the Unicorn

What do most people who buy 26Lies also purchase?

Lots and lots of Anne McCaffery, including such fine titles like, No One Noticed the Cat, If Wishes Were Horses, and Get Off the Unicorn. Occasionally, they also buy books by Elizabeth Bear (matociquala) and books about horses.

Well if it makes you feel any better I haven't bought any of Anne's books from Amazon.

And I still own my copy.

Reading is good. Buying is even better.

Well, color me astonished.

Those writers are not the first to spring to mind as compatible with a man who loves the words "cock" and "cunt" so very, very much.

Depends on what is meant by getting off the unicorn...
Apr. 13th, 2007 03:53 am (UTC)
i'm pretty sure that book isn't ANY of the possibilities i want it to be...
Apr. 13th, 2007 03:58 am (UTC)
Just a desperate attempt to try and tie two seemingly unrelated books together.
Apr. 13th, 2007 04:16 am (UTC)
i dunno. i know at least one person who read the book and who digs anne m. it's a cool thing, the diversity some people have in their reading habits.

Granted it's a balancing act with some of your readers hardcore punks and others McCaffreyians and nary a thread between them.

dude, i'm the thread--can't you see, i'm bringing us all together.

Guess that's yet another reason why we hate Ben Peek :)

just goes to show, huh?

anyhow, i have no idea how these things are worked out--but who cares. makes me laugh, and if it's true, even better.

One of the stories in Get Off The Unicorn is out-and-out alien porn. It's not good. Trust me.
Apr. 13th, 2007 04:41 am (UTC)
so... like, bought my book lately, then, huh?

Apr. 13th, 2007 12:29 pm (UTC)
Written any alien porn lately?

Apr. 13th, 2007 04:49 am (UTC)
Well, I bought that book, and then probably something from www.vidzofoz.com since I was shopping online and had the old credit card out. I may have also purchased some cat litter that day. I'm just a shopaholic really.

Oh; you meant something else? Lol.
Apr. 13th, 2007 04:53 am (UTC)
heh. but it's nice to know you bought cat litter ;)
Apr. 13th, 2007 04:59 am (UTC)
Once you get used to the crunchiness it really isn't that bad...
Apr. 13th, 2007 12:23 pm (UTC)
That Ben Peek's so dreamy. It's like he's full of rainbows!
Apr. 13th, 2007 09:20 pm (UTC)
i told you i was. pfft. dude didn't believe me. man, i am a fucking ray of sunshine--just ask any girl at any slumber party.
Apr. 13th, 2007 02:30 pm (UTC)
Hmm. I almost wonder if that's me, because I bought 26Lies and I've looked at McCaffrey and horse books recently. Which would be interesting, because I haven't actually bought any of them: I was just checking them out for bookpost linkage and idle curiosity purposes.

(What I bought in the same order as 26Lies was Kenneth Oppel's Skybreaker, an Aimee Mann CD, and a Ray LaMontagne.)
Apr. 13th, 2007 09:19 pm (UTC)
it did make me think of you, yes.
