Year Zero

That's the entire new Nine Inch Nails album, streamed out for you on the official site. At the moment, I am torn--the first handful of tracks were dreadfully boring, but the middle of the album, starting with 'My Violent Heart', really begins picks up.

At any rate, my favourite, and absolute favourite Nine Inch Nails related thing at the moment is this mash of Star Trek and the song, Closer. Embedding doesn't seem to work on this blog, which is something I'll have to look into, but believe me when I tell you that this is brilliant. Do the click.

i never heard WITH TEETH.

i'm listening to it again, right now. i just don't know. i think if i spin it off the site a couple more times, i won't have a need to buy it, you know?

I'll buy it, because I've bought everything ever released by NIN. But for me, he peaked with The Fragile, and hasn't really resonated since then.

With Teeth has some really embarassing lyrics on it.

for me, everything has been downward since... er, the downward spiral. the fragile was okay, but it had a lot of fat on it for me.

it's rare to find a double album that doesn't have any fat, but really, the fragile was one good disk.

that's a good icon for seconding, btw.

You know, I'd put Ad Noiseam 2001-2006 on the low-fat shortlist as well. Only some of the compilation is straight industrial, but it's all good. The illustrious markteppo turned me on to this. You might dig it.

You like the icon? I've been surprised to see how many things a raised fist goes well with. It's from the '78 Timescape/Pocket Books cover of The Demolished Man.

one of the low fat double albums of recent years for me is bluebottle kiss' DOUBT SEEDS. two forty five minute albums, basically, alt rock, but great with the guitars and drums and songs about dead prime ministers.

this is their myspace:

i always liked that bester book.
