People Who Like Me

Going around are a few lists of the fiction people have really liked during the year, and here is a bit of linkage, because hey, why not?

Twenty-Six Lies/One Truth was really linked by Kathryn Linge (kathrynlinge), Alisa Krasnostein (girliejones), and Tansy Rayner Roberts (cassiphone), who reckons the book counts as an alternate history text. I love that. You can buy it from Amazon and Wheatland Press. In fact, if you do reviews for a publication, and you'd like a review copy, email me.

Short fiction wise, both Krasnostein and Ben Payne (benpayne) thought 'The Souls of Dead Soldiers are for Blackbirds, Not Little Boys' was one of my best pieces this year, and Alisa liked Mono, too. In his write up of the year, Payne said, "Ben Peek published a couple of high quality pieces and continued to make his mark as an author on the rise," which is an entire sentence dedicated to me. Feel the love!

Personally, my favourite bit of short fiction I wrote this year was 'theleeharveyoswaldband' in Polyphony Six.

Anyhow, this was a self serving post, bought to you by the magic of livejournal.
