26Lies in the Flesh

This morning bought me the advanced copy of Twenty-Six Lies/One Truth that Deb Layne (deborahlive) sent me before going off to World Fantasy. Well, World Fantasy is nearly over, and you can buy the book there, and this is what it looks like.

It's bigger than I imagined and totally sweet. In form it's caught between a graphic novel, collection, autobiography and novel. How could you not love it?

I can't believe that only about five months ago there was no idea of this, no book, nothing but a meme I was messing with. It's wild. Really just wild.

Hey man I totally bought it on the first day. Deb also gave me a badge, which I lost (or more likely some jealous mo'fo stole!), but then I got another one and had lots and lots of comments about it!

ha! well, i hope it helps sell the book!

anyhow, man, thanks for buying it, and i hope you dig it!

Oh, I dig it. I'm on D at the moment (not so much free time at WFC). I particularly liked Chapter C!

I had so many comments, honestly. Lots of people seemed to know you/of you (more than knew me - I got lots of who the fuck looks at WFC!) and only a few really hated you!

everyone loves chapter C ;)

that's really wild about people knowing me (or having heard of me). holy shit, huh? makes you wonder how it happens. i wonder if there were many others wearing the badge? i think cat had one on. wearing it with pride, she told me. heh.

Didn't see anyone else with one personally. I will try and wear it on the tube in London. It's surreal, you never know who'll get curious and google it!

cat sparks, the publisher of agog. she was over there.

wear the badge with pride. i should really get some and send them out to people for xmas, instead of cards. maybe i'll even become a pick up line!

Ah, I don't know her.

It's all we can want in life to become a pick up line! (I might get my own badges made - something like "Chris Billett Can't Write"?)

BTW, I went to email you something and couldn't find a non-LJ email, but saw AIM. If you get a random add on AIM, that was me.

the livejournal addy works. it comes through to my main account, so unless the addy is fucked, i get it all good (but the email is a gmail account under the name theurbansprawlproject). but yeah, man, feel free to use the AIM one. i'm on it occasionally, even :)

i bet the badge will help other people pick up, but not me.

Coolness Ben; well done mate. It shall have pride of place on my coffee table. That's where I put all my stylishly packaged books :-)

...you have a coffee table?

OK! OK! I surrender! I've ordered a copy. Enough already!

Do I get the badge, or am I too late? I hope I get the badge. That'd be cool.

how much did you pay? i reckon the presale deal is still good, but i'll double check. everyone seems to like the badges, so maybe deb'll keep selling them.

I paid $23.95 USD (14.95 + 9.00 postage).

I realised after placing the order that I should have ordered Polyphony 6 at the same time and saved some postage. Do you reckon Wheatland would sort that out for me if I emailed them and added Polyphony to the order?

deb's cool, so i reckon she will. might take a few days--i don't know if she's back from world fantasy yet or not. but email her. don't reckon it'll be a big hassle.
