Kaaron Warren

Kaaron Warren (kaaronwarren) now has a blog. Friend it, bookmark it, whatever.

Kaaron is the author of the The Grinding House, a collection of dark fantasy slash horror, which is entirely worth reading. It even has little afterward story notes that I convinced suggested Kaaron to go with, because, really, I love those little personal touches in a collection. It saddens me when they're not there. Below is the cover, but the colours look better in the flesh, I reckon:

You know, I just came across an interview I did with Kaaron last year. It really surprises me when I come across anything from the Snapshot. Fuck that was a lot of insanity. Anyone checked to see how things turned out?

It's kinda strange to see it, a year later. Makes me think of doing another one.

...

For about five seconds.

And you pushed me to write the novella, too. I think you
said, "It shows a writer is willing to take a risk,"
and I thought, "Hey, I wanna be a risk taking writer."

i say some shit, don't i? ;)

anyhow, i do like seeing novellas in collections. they're hard to sell, but they show a writer branching out, doing different things, taking a risk if they are primarily known for short things. also, since it's going to be a bit, brand new peice in a collection, people will focus on it. but i do love 'em.

Yeah, you talk shit alright. This was good shit, though. I would have put the novella in, anyway, but at least this way I knew at least one person would read it!
