Octavia Butler.

Octavia Butler died on Saturday.

That is a huge, horrible, awful thing. I can't impress upon you how much this saddens me. I'd just last week ordered her now last novel, Fledgling.

"I'm learning to fly, to levitate myself. No one is teaching me. I'm just learning on my own, little by little, dream lesson by dream lesson."

--Parable of the Sower, Octavia E. Butler.

No third "Parable" novel, now, unless somebody does some kind of horrible zombie job on her notes or something.

Yeah, I just put Kindred on hold at the library because I've never read it. Also, the Parable books because I have but I don't own copies.
