One of the reasons for this is that Bob Geldof's Live 8 begins some time tonight, aided by massive advertising and famous people, and I suspect it's all people are going to talk about for a bit. I don't know what it will accomplish, and I suspect it'll be nothing but a few placebos. I'm cynical, naturally, but I was made this way by watching Geldof and Tony Blair talk on some British music show, and Blair doing his It's Not My Fault routine, followed by his But We Can Make A Difference line. Even if you haven't seen Blair do this before, I'm sure you can recognise the routine from any local politician. Still, for what it's worth, I hope all the rich and famous people on my telly manage to make some difference.
So, with the weekend likely to be quiet, I present the one word meme I saw a couple of times my friends list. Alternatively, if you're new to reading this thing, say hi. Or, you know, something else entirely. Give me something that isn't Bob Geldof to get me through the weekend.
Just one word; no more.
Then perpetuate the meme in your own journal.
