Arthur Miller.

I thought Arthur Miller was already dead. You know, I just can't keep up with these American literary icons. Next someone will be telling me Norman Mailer is still important. Though I tell you what, I didn't know that Miller was married to Marilyn Monroe at one stage.

I just trivialised his whole body of work right there, didn't I?

I wouldn't go so far as to say what Morman Mailer writes *right now* is important, but in his past he produced some fine works of American post-war fiction. I would say his best works are "The Naked and the Dead", "The Armies of the Night", "The Executioners Song", "The Deer Park", and "Marilyn". I think he was a great writer. He must be 80+ by now.

You didn't know Arthur Miller was married to Marilyn? Oh yeh, they were besotted with each other. Arthur Miller also wrote her last film, "The Misfits".
