What's that about the Aurealis Awards?

Okay. So.

Apparently, 'Dr Who (or the Day I Learnt to Love Tom Baker)' has been returned to the horror short list for the Aurealis Awards. No, seriously. Here's the shortlist. I honestly got to say that I'm not real caring of if it does or it doesn't get listed there, and I probably wouldn't have even bothered to mention it here except that I've mentioned the other parts of this little story, and there ought to be some closure. But otherwise... whatever.

Still, there you go.

I'm laughing. I think you're going to be disqualified next week. *snicker* Good luck... I think?

Oooh, you're up against Stephen Dedman. I hear he's pretty good! (I have The Art of Arrow Cutting hidden somewhere on my shelves.) Good luck with the award!

thanks, but i think it's pretty safe to assume i won't be winning.

as to dedman, he moves from being middle of the road to being fantastic, like most authors with ability, with the guide being that of taste. THE ART OF ARROW CUTTING isn't bad--i enjoyed it, but it's really just a relaxing sunday afternoon read. if you really want to check out my favourite of his stuff, there's a novelette called 'never seen by waking eyes' that's just utterly superb. it was reprinted in the tenth volume of the years best fantasy and horror.

yeah, the whole thing does remind me of a dying fish, gasping for breath, trying vainly to live while it should just be killed off. excellent use of metaphor, tess :)

I knew there couldn't be a take back - apparently, there's a take back of the take back.

actually, it appears one of the stories on the short list was a reprint, and when they took that off, i was pushed up.
