on the 21st of June, on page three in 2001, kelly burke presented the reader with this image:
'imagine olympic park as a 24-hour mini-metropolis, buzzing with jazz clubs, restaurants, cafes, a cultural precinct, up to 4, 000 residents and more than 10, 000 workers streaming into the area daily.'
from 'from ghost park to paddington II... olympic site plans hit lofty heights.'
burke, btw, does not make this sound like a good thing in her article. but the image is there, in all it's gaudy horror to be avoided, though i do believe this plan is going forth.
