The ipod, silver on the back, white on the front, and with white cords that act like arms and legs, is the new, tangible flesh of global capitalism.

And I'd have one, if I still carried any type of portable music device. I'm still getting by with the computer at home and the stereo in my truck, which I paid too much for two years ago just to make sure I'd be able to listen to .mp3 and .wma files on it as well as regualar .wav files.

Regarding your signal to noise ratio comment made elsewhere: the more signal we get, the less noise there will be. I won't twist your arm, but I think there is still an audience for your reviews and whatnot. We've created a folder just for creative output, and the noise ratio there seems extremely low. I'll make sure you've been given access.

actually, i do have an ipod. got it on the weekend. but i was looking at it, and if you wanted some fun, i think you could argue that it's just about global capitalism...

as for SA, i don't know. it's nice of you to say, but previously, when i did things like that, i got the impression that they were mostly unwanted, and that they went unread. *shrug*

I see your point on global capitalism...not sure it is a bad thing, really. We could be spreading much better things globally, true, but where the money goes everything else eventually follows.

On SA: Well, if the horse is dead, I'll stop beating it. I was going to use phrases like "geocentric" and "thought-provoking" in another attempt to sway you, but it feels like I'm twisting your arm and that won't do. I guess I'll just settle for what you put here, and...well, are you keeping up your other 'net contributions? Seems like you used to be rather prolific.

globalism (which includes global capitalism) is one of those things that is good and bad and brings out a whole lot of grey responses, least as far as i'm concerned. i could do with the lessening of capitalism, but that's a whole huge argument fullof good and bad.

as for SA, who knows, maybe i'll start posting again. *shrug* i've been known to change my mind for no reasons.

publishing wise, i'm a bit less prolific, mostly due to time. teaching and my thesis/novel eat up a bit, and what i have left over i spend working on fiction, or the laid back things you see here. the result is just less columns and articles, but there is more fiction out there. most of it (even the upcoming stuff) isn't on the net, however. but i promote pretty much everything through this little feed from my skull, so keeping an eye on it lets you keep track of that stuff, if you're interested.

(it's fine if you're not. just skip the pimping ones and read the other things. i suspect most do it.)
