Meme Again

Part of being on LJ is inevitably gaining a number of LJ buddies. Unfortunately, as time wears on, it's easy to forget where all of them came from. Post this in your journal and have your friends respond with how they recall first meeting you.

Or maybe that was me...

WEF, several years ago, I can't remember the first comment, but there was the unholy trio of celebrity kidnappers and pizza delivery service...

Darling, it was the night with the gibbons, the chocolate, the reanimated corpse of Cary Grant, and the very small petri dish filled with talking protozoans.

Of course, with all that, I'm not really surprised that you don't remember talking to me.

oh, how could i forget? you danced with gary grant's corpse with such divine grace.

We met at Infinitas, where you dissed my story in critique group. Fairly, of course, and you were obviously right. You approached the dissection with a certain thoroughness that made me think "Why do I really want to be a writer, again?"

And then you also dissed my next story. So I figure you're just blind to my genius. ;)

Finally, we discussed not applying for Clarion, when we met a third time at the Collins Broadway Genre evening thingy. Third time's the charm.

i diss everyone's stories :)

it's because i want people to write to the highest level they can. i want them to be salman rushdie, fritz lieber, kathy acker... wexcept, you know, themself. but i want the fiction to be so utterly good and uncompromised that if i can tear a story into bits through its faults, i will do so. i was got told it was like having an enema.

of course, these days, no one even asks me the opinion of local product, and i've stopped even reading it through a general disappointed haze that i had whenever picking it up. not, of course, that my opinion matters even in the slightest since i've got the reputation and literary of a dead animal...

i'm sorry, what was the question, again ;)
