The Satire in History

When I started watching the History Teachers on youtube, I was not convinced. Is there really any educational value to Ancient Minoan Civilization being sung to the music of 'Creep', by Radiohead?

Well, a touch, sure, but most students would just laugh at the production values and miss the satire. The music is too old for them, everything kind of dodgy, and the humour would probably just be lost. Of course, maybe that's just the students I come across. Maybe I know a particularly humourless lot.

But then. Then. Then I came across Black Death, to the music of Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl, where the word bubonic is sung out as the song continues, and I realised that students are an ungrateful and useless lot that need information crammed into their skull. Besides which, I thought that was pretty funny.

Education, it does strange things to people.
