theinferior4+1

Elizabeth Hand, Paul Di Filippo, Paul Witcover, and Lucius Shepard have created a group blog called theinferior4+1 (theinferior4):

"The Inferior 4 is Elizabeth (Liz) Hand, Paul Di Filippo, Paul Witcover, and Lucius Shepard. We are all writers and book (and film) reviewers, and we bid you welcome to our LJ page. You can expect from us a moderate amount of shameless promotion, perhaps even an immoderate amount at times, but otherwise there'll be talk about writing and movies and books and music and publishing and God knows what else. As we become more proficient in using LJ, pictures and other material will be posted. The Plus 1 of our name refers to the fact that at times our less-than-supergroup will invite certain luminaries to post on the page--imagine Helen Mirren, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Lars Von Trier, Yo Yo Ma, and then think down from there. Way, way down. Whatever, we hope you'll enjoy the time you spend here. And always remember, if you strive and push, if you sweat and work your fingers to the bone, no matter the odds, you too can be inferior."

That's Lucius Shepard describing the blog in the first post. Do the click thing.

the Beasts of Bourbon, Little Animals

Yes, the Beasts of Bourbon have a new album, Little Animals, coming out this year. This is a sample of it and it sounds fucking good.

"I think this record, how it's arranged and mixed, really has that '70s classic rock approach to it. Everything's up there. The solos are up. The arrangements are bang-bang-bang. It's our '70s radio album."

--Tex Perkins, frontman for the Beasts of Bourbon.

Alisa Krasnostein (It's About Me, Too)

"[Ben Peek] every piece of work he published last year was refreshing and different. I love his experimental pieces—I don't always think they work but I love that he's out there doing his own thing and not showing up with the same thing everyone else is doing."

Today is just link salad Monday, isn't it?

The above quote is from Krasnostein's interview in the latest issue of TiconderogaOnline, where she discusses ASif, New Ceres, Shiny, and her eight hours of sleep each night. She is also, currently, doing a two week question and answer stint on the ASif forum, where angry authors can appear and ask her what happened to their love.
