This is the Australian Shadows Award. As you can see by this statue, it's very classy, and very intelligent.

In fact, it's so classy and so intelligent, that it's nomination list includes a story published in 1985, 1986, and 1995, and which won a Ditmar Award for short fiction in 1986. That story, you ask? Why it's 'The Bullet that Grows in the Gun', by Terry Dowling, and which was reprinted in Basic Black in 2006. A classy, intelligent award, like I said.

From myelvesaredifferent (Steve Wilson).

Of course, for those curious, you might note the nomination list for the Australian Shadows Award has been taken down. Possibly they're looking to nominate something else by Terry Dowling. Personally, I hope they pick 'Scaring the Train'--it's one of my favourites, and is only, like, twelve years old.
