How Many Ways Can You Be Rejected?

I'm always keen to experience new forms of rejection, and today bought one addressed to Dr Benjamin Peek, whoever that is. Apparently Dr Peek has just been thanked for his interest in a job he applied for in April, but as the position has been withdrawn one month after a writing sample was requested from him, there is no longer a job... so, sorry. But, the letter continues to say, should another position that Dr Peek is suitable for open up, the University would be pleased to received an application from him.

Rejection letters all sound the same, don't they?

Polyphony 6

So, yes, I have sold my story 'theleeharveyoswaldband' to Deborah Layne (mme_publisher) and Jay Lake (jaylake) for Polyphony 6. It's probably not that hugely surprising, maybe, given the whole Twenty-Six Lies/One Truth chapbook sold to Wheatland Press earlier, but who knows.

I quite like 'theleeharveyoswaldband', because if I had a band, I'd maybe call it that, and as stories go, it's an odd piece about a musician and a girl who bootlegs live shows, and it sits as one of my favourites.
