"The city is the realization of that ancient dream of humanity, the labyrinth."

The quote is from Walter Benjamin's Arcades Project (or Das Passagen-Werk).

Sometimes, just sometimes, mind, it occurs to me that I won't be able to perform any kind of life saving procedure when I complete (and assuming I'm awarded) my doctorate. It's fun and all, but shouldn't I have learnt how to slice people open and repair their mashed up, life ravaged organs? It seems like the thing to do when you're a doctor. At least that's what TV tells me.

Maybe I should have taken a few anatomy courses.
