Raymond Chandler.

I don't know what popular opinion is on Chandler's Marlowe novels these days, but I still love them.

"He nodded, frowning, and drank his drink and pushed the glass to one side. I tasted mine. It was scotch. Not very good scotch."

From the Lady in the Lake.
The end of January clicked past. In keeping with the previous two months, there was a substantial rise in traffic.

What that means, I don't know. It's a pleasing thing, however, since I always approached the blog with a view that it should be public. In fact, my exact thought has been that it's a disposable public voice. Trip past on a regular basis for some amusement, and don't hold too tightly onto it, for the next day will be different. Hopefully it'd transfer into people picking up my work when that appears, which I know it's done in some cases. See, short stories are hard enough to follow on a regular basis, but at the moment, I view them a bit like a band putting out singles. Given enough time and following and an album will be put out. Now, that won't be happening any time soon, but there does appear that an audience has developed around here, which is nice, cause I'm still playing shitty bars and dead festivals for the most part.

The question that I am left with today, however, is how do I make you guys bigger? It doesn't take a genius to figure that the increase in readers is going to even out, which is expected, but I'm wondering (publicly, obviously) what it is I can do to promote this thing a bit more.

If there's anything. The second option is just to keep going and not think about it. In which case it won't be bought up again.

Anyhow, I'm not the brightest guy in the internet and writing jar (actually, I have no idea with this self promotion business) so I'm throwing the question out to y'all, southern style. Suggestions on what you'd like to see in here, how to pimp it, whatever, just toss it in. I'm told that requests for naked photos should be ignored, however.
