Memories Not Mine.

a cool meme.

Invent a memory of me and post it in the comments. It can be anything you want, so long as it's something that's never happened. Then, of course, post this to your journal and see what people would like to remember of you, only the universe failed to cooperate in making it happen so they had to make it up instead.

I distinctly remember Ben doing a hornpipe in the middle of the Hotel Foyer...

Remember when you went back in time to 2004 and posted that comment in your own journal knowing full well that past-you had no idea the ceret account was your own LJ from the year 2987? I seem to recall you laughing so hard some of the cyroplasma spilled over the side of your vat.

I also remember fondly the day you dodged Interpol at Heathrow by pretending to be your own transexual twin sister and then had to change your name to the delightfully voyeristic "Ben Peek" in order to slip MI5 at the watercooler. Fun times.

I don't know, man. I was going to talk about the time you wrestled a walrus on a dare, but I suspect that may have actually happened. ;-)

The soul-scars have not yet healed to the point where I can discuss my weekend in Sri Lanka with Ben Peek.

The physical evidence remains, however, in the form of a fur-lined snorkel suit, a bucket amusingly painted with the image of the hinder quarters of a cow, and forty skeins of grey yarn, all carefully preserved in the vaults of Barclays Bank.

I thought we agreed that we would never, ever talk about that day, or the resulting destruction of the !Zer@gar! race of Katchingbat twooTk and the sudden discovery that all sexual math was --

Well, damn. Now the secret's out.

I distinctly remember meeting you...
Apr. 28th, 2004 12:48 am (UTC)

many people have that experience after meeting me. it's tessa, right?
Apr. 28th, 2004 12:57 am (UTC)
Yep! Was hoping to get you to sign your story in Elsewhere. Rather enjoyed The Recipe. But I don't think I even managed to glimpse your name tag.
Apr. 28th, 2004 05:02 am (UTC)
hey, thanks. i guess, then, this would make you tessa who is in elsewhere tessa, yes?

as for name tags... well, i'm no big fan of them, honest. i had one and used it when i met people, but otherwise, nah. not me. however, i was the big bald guy with a goatee and dressed in black. you?
Apr. 28th, 2004 06:02 am (UTC)
There were a lot of bald goatee'd men in black, or so I noticed. :P

I was the short darkish girly in the Napoleon coat and stompin' boots. And yes, I'm that Tessa.

>There were a lot of bald goatee'd men in black, or so I noticed. :P<

i was the *good looking* one :P

i was on the humour panel and beginning short story panel, if that helps. other'n that, i don't know how i might've been seen. trevor knows me by sight, as do a few others in canberra (such as robbie and stuart) if that helps.

i think i remember seeing you, actually. was your coat a brownish colour?
Apr. 28th, 2004 06:34 pm (UTC)
Two panels I didn't get to, sadly. Coat was light brown. Aye. Well, you're in Australia, so I figure I'll meet you sooner or later. :P
Apr. 28th, 2004 06:41 pm (UTC)
yeah, i remember the coat and the girl in the coat. isn't that reassuring?

and yeah, i'm in sydney. next time trevor and donna make their ride up for some sort of deal, you should come along.
Apr. 28th, 2004 07:36 pm (UTC)
If I was still in Canberra I would, but I have been Melbournised.
Apr. 28th, 2004 07:57 pm (UTC)
better than brisbanised ;)

I'd painted my loungeroom an odd colour and you were giving me a difficult time about it.
