Oh god. The mere concept makes me ill.

Contacts are one thing, but why would you want to implant ANY metal under the cornea of your eye?

i guess they'd do it for fashion. all hail the almight fashion.

i kinda like it. it's freaky futuristic. but, that said, i wouldn't have someone putting metal in my eye.

Terribly exclusive, darling, as only six people in total have had it done. However, I picture a wave of people getting it done like all the ones who stuck those gold tooth caps over their teeth.

oh yeah, more people'll get it. it'll become like nipple piecing, i imagine. (maybe eyebrow piercing.)

and the more exclusive, the more fashionable it really is. you know that.

mm, but eyebrow and nipple piercing don't have that added edge of 'no-one knows what the long-term effects are' (the human race has been piercing itself since time began. It appears to be an irresistible urge in our psyche) and they don't have the added benefit of possibly crippling your sight if something goes wrong.

it's not something i'm planning to do, so i'm not particularly fussed. i figure if you're putting something in your eye like that, you ought to figure on there being a chance it might go wrong.
