Notes from America, #4

New York, New York. The size. The people. The traffic. But most of all, you notice just how bilingual everyone is.

I like it.

Nice running into you Saturday night at WFC! I wish we could have had more time together. How did Hannah's clipping go?

awful! the clippers we bought needed sixteen hours to charge. last i heard, she was on her own now. hopefully she's still going to do it--email her and demand it!

You're in the city tonight? Come to Forbidden Planet (off Union Square) between 6-8pm if you're about. Gary has his new book launch, then God knows what hijinks will occur.

well, obviously i missed that :)

i'm living in internet cafes. i finally found a resonable one, too, in chinatown. i couldn't handle another fucking moment in the back of a diner. but anyhow, yes, missed. probably would've come if i'd known before...

Also, if you go to McSorleys, they serve you two beers at once and you can dive in slow-motion to your table like Chow Yun-Fat, drinking from both.

Well, that's what I was trying to do.

Oldest bar in New York, which would have made it about the newest house in my village, but never mind, bless em for trying.

i probably won't get to go to mcsorleys, which is a shame, since i'd like to do the dive thing. i got basically one more day in this place, then it's off to veeeeeegas.

i am touring the landmarks, i assure you.

Yes, lilredbite, you are right. Hence my smiley :), denoting the fact that I don't think bilingual people are 'show offs'.

No worries. Emoticons are no match for face-to-face communication when it comes to sarcasm.
