cool. thanks for those, man. i'll have to check the second one out tonight, after work, since i want to get some of the novel done this afternoon (the last couple of weeks have been a fuck up, and i'm behind).

but yes, burroughs was one fascinating fuck up.

this is cool! i really dig burroughs-related stuff, moreso than his actual work. i like junky, queer and naked lunch and appreciate what he was trying to do and all, but his life is rather entertaining to read about. as oscar wilde said: "some poets live the poetry they cannot write, whilst others write the poetry they dare not realise"...i think burroughs did a little of both. ;)

i actually found JUNKY to be really boring, but i'm a big fan of NOVA EXPRESS, THE TICKET THAT EXPLODED and others in that era.

(oddly, even though i own a copy, i've never read NAKED LUNCH. plan to though.)

burroughs was patchy,t hough, i do agree.

I think Burroughs thought why not make some easy money-I do not think Burroughs cared what people thought of him-he was never out to be cool.

no, but he was critical of the media and advertising and such, so i still think it's an odd choice. but, like you said, easy money--and why not, i suppose?
