The Internet is Making Me Cry

I hear the new Harry--

No.

What?

No, we are not having this fucking conversation.

Isn't that a little bit of an over reaction?

No, it's not.

I'm fucking tired of it. A blind fucking child could figure out that Snape isn't evil and will redeem himself in this book, but only after his death, or through his death. It's the fucking lamest character plot device ever and you people are sitting around oh, what will happen. Well, let me tell you--

Stop.

You're right.

We're not going to talk about this.

Finally.

Also, we're never having sex again.

And then there won't be any more at all! No more anticipation, no more excitement, no more reading until 3:00am to find out what happens at the end.

Frankly I think he's more of a curmudgeon.

He's definitely a curmudgeon

Unfortunately I'm only slightly less cynical - there will be another book. Most definitely.

I've been tempted. It's brilliant, and I was struck by it the first time I saw it in the zombie story.

feel free. i've been doing it for years now--i started doing them way back here as a blog stunt

http://benpeek.livejournal.com/296122.html

and since then, they've just snuck all through my work. they're in 26lies, a few short stories. i've never tried selling any, but maybe i will.

Yup. Withholding sex is a perfectly valid form of argument.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I got part way into the first book and thought, "Wow, she's trying really hard to write like Roald Dahl. . .I wonder where my copy of George's Marvelous Medicine got off to?" I've tried reading them a little more since, but they just don't really do much for me. I read a LOT of YA fantasy in my day, and she's not bringing anything all that new to the table, at least for me. I almost wish I could have gotten more into them, because it would have made my life a LOT easier. I'm tired of being hounded by Potterphiles. "What do you mean, you didn't like HP? What the fuck is wrong with you?" etc.

that's cool. and yeah, it's always nice to find someone who isn't that thrilled by the rowling books. not that i reckon people shouldn't read them, but...

I'm going to watch one Harry Potter film each Christmas, drunk, just in case I need to [vaguely] reference them when I'm chatting to stunning girls who adore them. I am that shallow. It doesn't hurt that I worked on the second, third and forth films.

What am I saying here?

I dunno. I'm tired.

It would be less evil and almost comedic if I hadn't already done the first four films.
