Wasted Youth

Also, it's Australia/Invasion Day.

I've talked about it enough in the past, I know, but I'd just like to reiterate: if you're wearing the flag for a cape, you're a moron.

Yup.

And as an aside, boy that was a fucking boring Hottest 100. Admittedly I havne't listened to one for quite a while, nor Triple J, but geeze. (Not to say there weren't a scattered few songs I consider decent...)
And, sorry to say, My Chemical Romance suck ;)

you're just not emo enough, man ;)

anyhow, i flipped on the radio for the hottest 100, and it was that k west dude, and i was like, no. sorry. goodbye. that triple j keeps giving airtime to these big, pop hip hop artists from the states is kinding giving me the shits. these guys don't really need the airtime here. missy elliot is the same thing.

in the last year it's like triple j took every hip hop artist they could find and threw them on the play list.

the last year? try, in the last 3 years, at the very least! and yes, wearing a flag makes you a moron, but does that really need to be said? i would have thought it was obvious.

Yeah, well I don't hate hip-hop, but the pop stuff, it's for sure sad that Triple J plays it. I quite like Miss E but Kanye West, fuck off...
Triple J is just so commercial it's sad. But I tend to think that This Chemical Romance is really commercial too - it's like the corporatised punk they were playing a few years ago. Cod-industrial big production, SO American and so very earnest ;) (Which I guess is these days' definition of emo, yeah)

i don't hate hip hop. there's some i quite like--but some i do not. missy eliot just irritates me. but of course, you are right about my chemical romance, and there's really nothing i can say about it in defence. except i like it. no doubt the fad will pass, but still...

And honestly, good on you. We all like crappy stuff and don't care, and just 'coz I think some of your stuff is crappy speaks not for what you can and should like!

Would you like Canada to invade, so as to grace you with the goodness of Matthew Good Band?

Or would a Commonwealth Country invading a Commonwealth Country be perceived by pretty much the Entire World as being a little strange?

i think the real question is, would the entire world even notice what two commonwealth countries did?

is the matthew good band anything like the dave matthews band? cause i hate them :)

I thought hating the Dave Matthews band was a violation of international law.

In Soviet Russia, you do not hate Dave Matthews Band! Dave Matthews Band hates you!

They'd notice if Kevin Smith served as a front-line correspondent.

And Matthew Good Band, is, well, erm, well, it's fair to call them "good." They're not nearly as annoying as DMB, and though they broke up, they still [alterno] rock.

Sensitive New Age Killer
Off-topic, you ever heard of an australian film of the above title? Or it's director, Mark Savage?

Re: Sensitive New Age Killer
yeah, man. the film came out a few years back--a low budget, black comedy hit man thing. i read that it's budget got cut hugely just before (or just into) making it, too. reviews weren't too crash hot on it, so i didn't end up catching it, and it has sunk without a trace since then.

savage i don't know, though. he hasn't gone on to making successful flicks since that one, i don't think.

Hmm. Maybe I'll pass on it, then. Love the title, though.
Thanks.

It's all good.

As regards the picture at the top of this thread, what would you wear a flag for, if not a cape? :)

Re: S.N.A.K.
you could wear it as a frock, or a little dress. capes are just so 1999 ;)

I suppose you could do an enormous loincloth with one, or maybe a hoodie. :)

Re: S.N.A.K.
they could build a giant jesus statue and put it on that. then the world could see that jesus was australian, which would mean, of course, i'd have to become canadian.

Think I might have to opt out of the commonwealth for that one. Maybe become a naturalized New Guinean.
