I keep to myself. I like it that way. But if you're reading this blog, and you're wondering what kind of person I am, well, wonder no more. Here's Rjurik Davidson's (rjurikdavidson) description: "Ben's a big, intimidating looking man with a quiet voice that means business."

Yes, in my spare time, I am a vigilante. Thank you for asking.

Cool - but cooler is a story inspired by Ballard! I want it! Did you ever read The Drought, by him?

the story was published last year on a site called SHADOWED REALMS. i just went to snag the link for you, cause the story's not real big, and the book won't be out for a couple of months--and learnt, much to my shock, actually, that the story isn't on the site anymore! fuck. heh. the ten months for it to be archived have gone, so the only place you can find it, i'm afraid, is in the book. the story of ballard's that inspired it was a short story called 'answers to a questionnaire'. sorry, man.

i haven't read that ballard book, though. any good?

Slow. I sometimes have this problem with books (Moby Dick, The Book Of The New Sun, The Drought, et cetara...) whereby I fight through them bit by bit, thinking that they're not grabbing me, then afterwards realise they are absolute masterpieces and I love them! Moby Dick is the perfect example there... also doing it right now with Perdido Street Station.

It is good, though. Not incredibly big, like much of his stuff, so worth a look. I picked up Millenium People too, but haven't read it yet.

I meant I LIKED your profile, not that I disliked the rest of your face. :-p

(Besides, if you would just come to the United States, you would have girls falling all over you. American girls LOVE accents. Of course, they might think your English, but they'd love your accent. :D)

Well, there is no place like home :D but it could just be a little VACATION from the fucked-up relationships. Nothing permanent or anything. I'm telling you, that's not just a stereotype about the accent. American women think it is very cool. (You wouldn't even need a personality... though in your case, you have that in spades. :D)

heh. i wouldn't even know what to do with a stable, healthy relationship. kill myself? i'm pretty sure that would be the only response open to me. of course, the idea that i would have to pay a few thousand dollars and travel to a different country... that makes it kinda fucked up, too :)

Stable healthy relationships do make one suicidal at first but then after you pass that peak (sort of like how the Donner Party climbed the Rocky Mountains)and THEN the stable healthy relationships make you all content and fulfilled and stuff. :)

Well, I suppose if you want to do the challening thing and stay in your own country and find someone NOT just on the basis of your accent... well that's your decision to make. And probably the right thing to do for personal growth and blah blah blah. :D

:D Well, I'll give you the poor because hello, you're a writer. But you're not lazy and you may not call it personal growth but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
