It appears to me that a lot of the more popular blogs don't actually have any real content. Just links to it.

I heard someone very snootily claim once that a blog is only a blog if it's all about links. Otherwise, it's something else.

I like links to spiffy things. But _just_ links, well, I might as well not read anything but BoingBoing, then.

i don't mind links in a blog, really. but i also like a bit of content from the blogger itself. something that says, 'no, i didn't just go through the links that were sent to me by people and press releases and use them.'

which is the danger that blogs might become, i suppose.

Organizing information effectively is sometimes as important as providing primary information -- especially considering the high noise-to-signal ratio on the Internet.
