Visits by the Secret Service.

In America, land of the free, jlassen, was visited by the Secret Service. You might've seen the link last week, but I didn't post that because details were a bit scarce, and it's better to read things from the source.

Reading it makes me happy not to be American.

i feel so trapped in the states.

the states is sounding like a nasty place to live, really. i know many fine people in there, but none of them are currently able to defend their country. i don't think australia is that far behind them, you know. give us another ten years of liberals following republicans (over here the liberals are the conservative party) and things won't look so different.

We do have bears in some of our national parks.

And here in Florida, we have 3 foot tall birds that are utterly gorgeous when they are flying over the Everglades.

(Odd, isn't it, that when defending the U.S. as a nice place to live I first think of bears and birds, not people....)

the ss visit
Ah, it's that season again, when the poor innocent American rube wakes up to the very fact that the rest of the world has known about for decades. the "Freedom" thing is a bit of a public relations rort. They're all suitibly shocked and horrified while the rest of us go, "and your point is...?"

Oh, and it's not a anti-US thing... ;-) Better put that disclaimer in. Love America. Love it. Really I do.

Reading that entry and the conversation about "art" reminded me of a quote that I read once, from Adolph Hitler. I had to google it because I didn't remember it exactly, but here it is "Anyone who sees and paints a sky green and fields blue ought to be sterilized."

So yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I'm going to go cry now.
