The World.

The World.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum is utterly and gloriously insane and wealthy (or a belated April Fools joke). Either way, he is apparently creating a series of islands shaped like the World, and you can buy one, assuming you're ridiculously wealthy. I can't quite decide if His Highness watched Prisoner until his mind broke, or if it was just bad science fiction novels in general.

Well, similar thing. My pic is one of 3 'Palm tree' developments that are currently being built off the coast of Dubai. I understand The World came after.

oh, an old people film :)

there's a nice quote there about how one actress found her pants so tight that she needed help to get them on, and couldn't wear underpants. i bet the film isn't about that, though.

You'll just have to see it to find out! Or better yet, see Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, which is the same as seeing This Island Earth but with puppets making fun of it.
