Australian Years Best.

In a fine way to end the year, Bill Congreve and Michelle Marquardt have purchased 'the Dreaming City' for their first volume of the Year's Best Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy.

The year is done, everyone, have a good time tonight or tomorrow night, and spare a bit of cash for the Tsunami victims.

Not that the antho has arrived here as yet.

We were round at Cats last night, and she got in too, which she was happy about.

Comhgairdeas aris! (pronounced Coe-gorgeous areesh), which is Gaelic for "Congratulations again!"

Couldn't resist...;-)

takk fyrir

which is an icelandic thank you (your guess for pronounciation is as good as mine). i tried looking for gaelic, but couldn't find it. perhaps they weren't very big into thanking people ;)

And did you spare some money from this marvellous achievement for the Tsunami victims?

Really I don't see the point myself. I mean every piece of news I get about it tells me how amazingly generous all us rich countries are already being! I mean I'm patting myself on the back and I haven't spent a cent yet.

And besides. Our wonderfully devout Cardinal Pell was published in the Telegraph, justly reminding everyone that the Tsunami was a message from God. Demonstrating his distaste for human immorality. So, as a catholic I have to be glad that all those evil third world paupers have suffered. It's my Catholic duty!

>And did you spare some money from this marvellous achievement for the Tsunami victims?<

actually, i'm donated the whole lot. i've told the editor to send the money straight to UNICEF and not me.

i bet you never thought i'd say that, did you?

With the blood of motherless goats I bind this covenant
Pursuant to my previous rant I would just like to re-iterate my pledge that:

Should creation truly be the work and ongoing responsibility of an Old Testament, Fundamentalist, God. ie should he (and lets face it folks if it's that kinda god it's a he) be the kind of overseer who would stike down the weakest members of the global community with natural disasters because he doesn't like loose morals and rock and roll dancing then,

I, Jason Vella, fully support the rebellion of the most beloved and beautiful member of the Angelic Host, Lucifer, and forever cast my soul into hellbound rejection of the Law of Heaven.

Re: And one more thing!
i guess it just snuck up on me while i was looking. i bet i'll be cardinal soon enough, though...

but anyhow, i started screening comments to stop spam bots. anyone not being spam gets descreened as soon as i see it.
