Observation #921

On the Polyphonic Spree's second album, Together We're Heavy, lead singer Tim DeLaughter manages to sound an awful lot like Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips. Still, it's an uplifting kind of album, and that's alright.

Polyphonic Spree freaks me out. They look like some kind of hippy-Jesus cult that will wind up on the news in a few years after they all commit simultaneous suicide. But that "Follow the Day" song is kinda catchy.

yeah, they do have that freaky cult quality--but they're a freaky cult catchy quality. i think i liked their first album more, with the song 'soldier girl' on it, but there's no denying the way i bop i hum along to this album.

apparently they're preforming a two song set at the nobel prize cermemony (or did).
